Writer's Block: Health Care

[Error: unknown template qotd]

So... It's apparently a rare privilege. I agree that it is not necessarily a 'right' per se. However, our government interfering in our health care system has made it impossible for the average person to be able to afford health insurance. Without health insurance most people can't afford health care. In the 90s I could afford health insurance for me and my child easily. I worked one job and I could afford my home and still have money left for emergencies. Now, I work two jobs, can't afford health insurance even just for me. Goddess help me if I get sick or hurt in any way that I have to pay for it.

We're at a point where it's going to have to become a right. There isn't a way to go back to how it was before the government started screwing around with it and making mandates that drove costs out of general affordability. So now we don't have any choice but to take it the rest of the way and make it a right. I just hope that they spend a little time studying the Japanese system rather than shoving us into that horrible Canadian nightmare of a health care program. We need to at least maintain some choices.
