ishte: Icon given by OTW for paid membership (Default)
Since I made my post saying that I was switching to Captcha to get rid of bots posting random comments on my LiveJournal, and made that switch, I have had so far 7 spams... 6 for cheap Chinese designer knockoffs (2 for Louis Vitton) and one elaborate one for cell phones, all of which apparently defeated the Captcha with ease, and all of which were on my most recent post, 3 of which posted today after I complained to LiveJournal about the high level of spam I'm suddenly getting.

Thankfully, LiveJournal did respond to my complaint and has let me know that if I eliminate responses from anyone not registered that it will still allow posts from people on OpenID, Facebook and so on who use those as their registries.  So Those of you who do RX my posts and aren't LiveJournal users yourself, 1) come to LiveJournal. We have cookies and stuff here. 2) just log in using your OpenID, or Facebook or whatever. According to OpenID, most people with the following provisions already have the ability to log in using OpenID (this includes LiveJournal users actually. I use my ishte.LiveJournal.com openID login all the time.):

Here is their text but i took out all the logo graphics: )

Other Well Known & Simple Providers

In addition, there are several dedicated OpenID providers that are generally recommended by various members of the community. While not a comprehensive list, each of these providers offers a free and secure OpenID to use across the web.

Chi.mp allows you to create your own social hub on an OpenID domain you own and control.

ClaimID is an easy way to manage your online identity with OpenID.

myID.net is an OpenID provider with support for groups and the Korean language.

myOpenID is the first standalone provider for both individuals and businesses, with secure multi-factor authentication.

VeriSign’s Personal Identity Provider is an OpenID provider with support for multi-factor authentication.

Your Internet ID lets you build a social identity to use on the web.

So what that works out to, is I will as of this post no longer allow anonymous comments. Sorry. you have to log in. you have two dozen different ways to do it. If you are too lazy to do it, You can't comment on my LiveJournal. I might even miss you. So just buck up and log in so you can comment.

PS... I totally failed at code and hit the post button before it looked like I was TRYING to tell it to, but having had a few at the pub tonight, I should not even be attempting to write code, though I can obviously still do math somehow...

PPS... apparently I'm only allowed to tell it to have ONE property for the blockquote. It pukes if I try to give it two. I cleaned it up. Sorry if you saw the vomit. *rolls eyes*
