I got to delete Penis Enlargement Pills spam out of this post: http://ishte.livejournal.com/218276.html from almost a year ago.  GRAWR!

I don't like the idea of having to block anonymous posters. I don't know if that will block people using their OpenID's  etc from posting. I guess not, but I don't KNOW not.

What the hell is up with all this spam? Mostly from Russia. Ed's journal got attacked first... and he hardly uses it.  Now mine in these ancient posts that nobody is going to see anyway.

Shortly after I started my blog, I went to the ad control section specifically to block that sort of thing- along with dating services and solicitations for porn and prostitution that masquerade as dating services. Soon after I set those blocks, several of those ads appeared anyway. I blocked them too, with prejudice! I also expressed my displeasure at having to do so after I gave instructions to not let the said ads attach themselves to my blog. It has been a while since the said ads appeared, so I think the protest worked.
