As I read your post, I just started listening to the myriad of little noises all around me: The fan of my computer; the Bear snoring in the bedroom; the furnace in stand-by mode; the vague whine of the monitor; the cat bathing himself on the couch; and even the tapping of my fingers on the keys.

It's pretty amazing how rare true silence is.
