Whooo hoo! I just found out that Christopher Paolini's book Eragon is going to be a movie! Man how cool is that!?Look!
I discovered this when looking to see when the third book in the series would be released. The movie will release December 15.. I can't WAIT!! Click through the poster for more info.
Anyone who doesn't know. I ordered this book because it looked like something I'd enjoy. Well I did... immensely actually, and it wasn't until later that I learned that the author started the book when he was only 15 and had published it and was starting on the second by the time he was 19. I'm almost finished with the second one now and anxious for the third of the series, as it's clear that the story has a long way to go before it is finished. But now I will get to see the story in a movie? Awesome! What a hell of a contract for Paolini to get too.
Frankly I don't know what all the fluff was about that chick with the book contract that was so young... She wasn't even AS old as Paolini was when he started his series. Paolini did NOT have a contract when he started as I understand it. This chick was hired to write a trilogy, paid in advance before she wrote a word, given special help to write it, and then plaigerzied another writer in 40 different places. It's disgraceful. maybe the book company was trying to capitalize on having a writer who was younger than Christopher Paolini. They failed miserably.. and he wrote his books. If you haven't, you should read them. Click the link to order it. (my very own commercial!)
