Time Management
2006-Jul-22, Saturday 11:23Haha.. so they say that the busier you are, the better you manage your time, thus the more time you find you have. I have found that to be true, but sometimes it takes a while to get into the swing... I'm still working on that, and getting used to my new schedule... the whole concept of not having to work for 16 hours a day is a little weird. Problem is that those 16 hours a day were often spent languishing somewhere with nothing to do... whereas, I now spend 10 hours between leaving the house and arriving home, but one of those hours is spent driving one way or the other... and 8 of them packed with activity in my busy environment. My hour of lunch is half an hour driving and acquiring whatever I need or intend to eat... and usually half an hour eating and reading in my car.
I'm still working on learning to accept that given more free time in the evenings every single day, I do have the freedom to choose to fill them however I want. That's been difficult because I have been hard pressed to come to the realization that in fact, I can if I choose fill some of those hours visiting friends who for so long I hardly ever saw. I must say it's a welcome change. I had dinner with Vanda last night and we just sat and shot the breeze for an while, and still had time to goof off when I got home before bedtime!
Even odder is the idea that I can spend $5 and rent some movies, and have time to watch them when I want... and still have time to chat online, or draw on the computer, design a live journal layout for someone, languish in the tub with a book, or just sit and read if I want to. Now if only I could walk around my house naked all would be well with the world! ^_^
