Good News

Finally, this has been resolved, at least for Captain Patrick Stewart and his widow.  Kudos to the state of Nevada for deciding that they as a state have the right to take charge and allow Mrs. Stewart to have the correct emblem made for his grave.  Full details here:

Rurouni Kenshin

Please note: I am adding Rurouni Kenshin DVD Box set Vols 1, 2 and 3 to my Amazon Wish list as must haves. 

Please note: this version has both English and Japanese audio tracks and subtitles.  I do not want English only, as the English voice actors are inherently inferior to the original Japanese ones.  I'd rather read the subs on the parts I can't follow with my terrible Japanese (not to mention that the more I hear the language more I understand what I hear.  I do like having both tracks though, just so I can remind myself from time to time why I prefer not to have my Japanese shows dubbed. Why can't they get decent quality VA's for Japanese TV series'?  There are plenty of very excellent English speaking VA's out there.  Refer to the VA's (many of whom are also well known screen actors btw) chosen to voice for the Gargoyles series... or Exosquad  (another series that I would like to find on DVD) is another good example actually.

Please Note: I did not add the last OVA: Reflection to my list.  If anyone were to get it for me I wouldn't bitch, but this OVA is not (I repeat NOT) canon.  Even the Mangaka himself notes (more politely by far than I would if my view of a follow up story had been misrepresented so badly from what I had in mind) that this is not how he pictured RK at this point in his life.  It's very disjointed... and I have to wonder if Watsuki-san was even consulted on the production of this movie, and if so, if he got some vaseline before they bent him over and had their way with his creation despite his feelings on the matter.

Though I am not going to add them to my wish list at this time... I do want to note that the English translation of the Manga is also something I want... But Amazon has it presented piecemeal, and I don't want my wishlist to get that long!!

I had a very vivid and rather bizarre dream that involved RK last night... Maybe I will tell it here later on... but for the moment, let me just give one small part of it.  Apparently Himura Kenshin still lives to this day, (despite Reflection) youthful as ever, still wearing his red kimono and very white hakama... however he also drives a VW golf with a very high tech anti-theft system which can drive the car around at random with the thief trapped inside and sirens blaring.  Other parts of the dream were not so weird as that... the car was apparently some sort of test for me. hahahha... that's all I'll say about that for the moment.
