Yah... so I'm watching FMA Episode 27... Ed and Al are still little boys trying to figure out some of the high level alchemy they need to know.  Ed picks up a book and says with some awe "These are his formulas!".  Then the shot goes to the inside of the book.  The text inside though, appears to be a description and review of a book from Bastian Press for D20 Role Playing (i.e. Dungeons and Dragons 2nd ed. -- does anyone actually play the 3rd ed? Hmm...)  Deh... I need this book too. haha for Daniel Andari in the game I'm currently playing.  He needs it for the Herbalist side of things.  Consider it added to my Amazon Wishlist.

Anyway, I thought that was pretty funny in and of itself.  There are also a number of scrawled handwritten notes and calculations, array designs and so on... One of the notes refers to a flying pan, and a "dilicious ommulet by two eggs and onion and cheese".  This sort of thing is not unique to this series of course.  It happens all over the place, and often becomes a source of trivia later about that show. "on such and such date, the computer screen displayed the names and dates of such and such... and listed among those names were: ..." It happens in movies and TV shows all the time.  I've just been amused at some of the things that appear in this one. Often the first line or two of the text flashed by is relevant and actually says what the characters are saying it says, but then beyond that is something pasted in.  It's what gets pasted in that's often amusing.  This one is interesting to me also in the fact that the original spoken language for the series was Japanese, but all the text in both the anime and the Manga are in English... And though at one point Ed ends up in London on our side of the gate, I have this idea that Continental Europe at large is probably a better parallel to where Amestris is on his side of the gate.  Well, that's way over-analyzing haha... (due to an evil plot I'm suffering from right now) but it's just something I find kind of funny while enjoying this series... and kind of cool to accidentally find a D&D book that I really want now.

That reminds me... now that my house is off the market, I need to unpack my books again... Uh.. I need to get about 10 more floor to ceiling bookshelves too... Hrm...think there needs to be a stuff sacrificing again... I went through and got rid of scads of things when I moved to Missouri... and I think maybe it's time for another purging.  I have too much stuff... and not enough room for my books.  Too much other furniture too... Maryna... please come and visit me so you can help me dig through all this crap and make it go out the door into the great beyond of trash pickup.  Uh... durn it... I forgot... my guest room has been occupied by a 'guest' for over a year and a half.  Bleh... So I need my guest room back too.  I miss having company, and there were things I still wanted to do with that room.

Oh yah.. and I'm totally filled with joy that The Stone Language by Klaus Badelt is playing right now. ^____^
