These Stupid Things
2007-Jun-02, Saturday 16:021.Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, and find line 4:
"herb, St. John's wort is now recognized"
(yes it's a small handbook... Penelopy Ody's Pocket Medicinal Herbs which was sitting by my elbow.)
2.Stretch your left arm out as far as you can, what do you reach:
The Case for my backup copy of Total 3D Home. Unfortunately the first disc is NOT in the case and I don't know where it is, which means I'll have to dig the original out of the software tote.
3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
I'm not sure... I don't watch TV... last time I turned my TV on was last month, and that was to watch a DVD movie: Eragon. Before that was January to play a game: Fullmetal Alchemist: Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel. Um... I might have watched the election returns in November... but actually I don't think I did. I listened to them on the radio most of the day and already knew the results by the time I got off work.
4. Without looking, guess what time it is:
2:00 pm
5. Now look at the clock. What is the actual time?
Uh... 1:59... wow I was pretty close... but I knew it had to be pretty close to 2, so maybe that wasn't a very fair guess. ^__^
6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
A mourning dove is singing somewhere nearby. I can hear some other birds, but compared to the music of the dove their noise is just background chatter.
7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
Um... Last night. I still have my nammas on... I mean... it's Saturday! hahaha... I'll go out and gather up the branches I trimmed later.
8. Before you started this survey, what did you look at?
Email I think. Something about someone wanting to save a sparrow (not indigenous to this area) from a cat (following it's natural hunting instincts) and not letting him eat it.
9. What are you wearing?
My nammas... which consist of a slightly greenish blue tank top, and a darker slightly greenish blue pair of shorts with flowers and the shorts also have lace at the hems. I could wear them around all day if I would put my bra on.
10. Did you dream last night?
I always dream. I can't remember my dream right now. Something will probably remind me of it later.
11. When did you last laugh?
Yes... I admit that I did laugh at my friends for wanting to save a sparrow from a cat. We call those fluffy bunnies.
12. What are on the walls where you are?
Mostly machine staples that my daughter put there (since I moved into her room.) A couple of cheap prints, one of a tiger, and one of a couple kissing that is very art deco and I like it a lot. hanging from my ceiling though is a REALLY COOL KITE that I got for a dollar at a garage sale. It's a windsock type kite in the shape of a fancy carp (goldfish) with an open mouth and about a 5 foot wingspan. Very colorful and cool. I can't wait to try flying it. That might happen this afternoon.
13. Seen anything weird lately?
That kite? Hee hee... Nothing I can think of actually.. I see weird stuff all the time... but nothing comes to mind yet. Maybe after I have breakfast.
14. What do you think of this quiz?
The title of this post: "These Stupid Things" should give you a clue.
15. What is the last film you saw?
I watched Eragon on DVD... I don't remember the last thing I actually went to the theatre and saw on Film... It might have been Return of the King.
16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?
A house first... and no actually, I would not buy the biggest house I could find. It would be a modest Victorian house... Maybe I'd build my own though... and on a big enough property to have a nice servant's cottage so I could have a couple of people to tend my grounds and keep my space tidy. hee hee. After that I'd invest as much of it as I could... set myself up a yearly allowance, and probably continue to work... but I would work at something I LIKE instead of something because it's what I *CAN* do. Either that or I'd go back to school full time and maybe even only take the classes I wanted to take with no program in mind whatsoever. Let them try to force me to take that stupid psych 101 class again for a computer science degree? WTF was that about? As if I hadn't already had that my freshman year at my OTHER college in a classroom that did NOT have 200 other people in it.
17. Tell me something about you that I don't know.
There's stuff you don't know about me? Erm... I thought I was pretty much an open book. hahahaha... Maybe you didn't know that I love to dress up. I mean formally, like big gala event dress up. I have clothes for it too... and wish that I had more opportunity to actually WEAR them. I found a really cool sleek gown at a garage sale yesterday that is a slip dress, in gold lame. Let me see wearing THAT to the office. I need to be invited to fancy fund raisers and stuff like that to wear some of these things.
18. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would it be?
I didn't like my first answer... once I started thinking about it... Maybe I would just make it so that people would understand that HUMANS are a PART of the NATURAL WORLD... The idea that a natural area has to be untouched by humans is ludicrous... the fact is that removing human interaction from some areas is more harmful. Does it not occur to them that Mother made a chain of command in nature? That there is a reason she placed Humans at the top of the land based chain?
Here's my example. Wild Fires are often caused by laws that prevent humans from entering huge large expanses of forest, which would normally be cleared of excess brush by normal human activities... no roads (even rudimentary) in huge expanses of lands (that surround heavily populated areas) so when the fire breaks out due to a lightening strike in the dry season, it runs rampant because nobody can GET to it to put it out until it is already completely out of control. Stupid.
19. Do you like to dance?
I does loves to dance.
20. George Bush:
Reasons to vote Libertarian.
21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
She was, and I named her Alexandria. I would have named her Alexandria Michael, but I changed the middle name as a nod towards her grandmother who didn't get any girl children and wanted a Katrina.
22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
She wasn't, but I would have named him Michael Alexander.
23. Would you ever consider living abroad?
Very possibly. Especially if I had that multimillionaire over night thing happen to me.
24. What do you want God to say to you when you reach the pearly gates?
She will say: "It's good to see you back. Why don't you rest a little while, then I have some things you can do to help me out in guiding others along, and also have some ideas about what you might want to learn on your next turn."
Dur... I don't really believe in tagging people for these things... but ok... I'll tag a couple just to see what they do.
evil_little_dog and
reincarnated_al and
cornerofmadness and
littlechemist01 and
marynachaotica That's 5... that should be enough to nudge.

Here's mine:
