1. Leave a comment to this post!
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Post the names of five fictional characters whose names begin with that letter, and your thoughts on each. The characters can be from books, movies, or TV shows

[livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog gave me the letter "B".   ??? B?  Ugh...

1. Breda, Heymans - (Fullmetal Alchemist) On first glance you'd expect this guy to be the ox on Mustangs team, strong, but not too bright.  A closer look though, shows that he has a keen analytical mind. He knows what is going on and is probably ahead of most in planning strategies. Breda beats everyone at chess.

2. Bahamut, The King of Dragons - (Final Fantasy Series) In the very first game he gives your characters the honor of a class change if you bring him a Rat's Tail. In later games you have the ability to summon him for help in battle.  Earlier in the game he is generally a greatly sought after summon, and even when other summoned monsters are available to call upon, he is still an incredibly useful monster.

3. Barrett Wallace - (Final Fantasy VII) Big mouth, trash talker with a big gun grafted onto his arm. He appears at the very beginning of the game as Cloud Strife's boss (having hired Cloud as a Mercenary) on a mission.  Barrett isn't the brightest star in the sky, but he's dedicated to making the world a better place by ridding it of Shinra.

4. B'Elanna Torres - (Star Trek Voyager) Half Klingon. She starts out as a fairly minor character, but grows into a strong presence as she moves up to Chief Engineer of Voyager

Ehhh... B is HAAAARDDD! *Wail*

5. Bronski, Wolf - (Exosquad) Ok.. Bronski is the ox you expected Breda to be. Big and dumb, Bronski is the guy you want with you when you know you have to plow through a lot of hard core physical adversity. Don't expect him to solve any serious puzzles, but he's got the brain power to control his own exoframe without any trouble.

Wow this was damned hard...

I think I did it last year and it was kind of fun. In fact My first entry is that [livejournal.com profile] marynachaotica cause me to post something. So here it goes....

January - Embedded video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vPWE2Ebz48] No actual words, but the subject is "[info]marynachaotica caused me to post this."

February: I'm not sure what lead into this dream, but the part I remember starts with me and [info]cheapcarnival being out fishing with friends [info]composer2005, BH and TD

March: The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Eigth Level of Hell - the Malebolge!

April: How anyone can see and hear these choirs and really believe that there are no souls, that there is no force or connexion between us, no higher power of any sort, I cannot fathom.  It moves me to tears. (this was in response to Eric Whitacre presenting the first 3 minutes of Virtual Choir 2.0 performing his composition "sleep" on TED: http://www.ted.com/talks/view/lang/en//id/1110

May: There have been some things going on around in the real world, that have made it hard for me to keep up here.

June: Embedded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWK-iyC5oPc Subject: "Too Funny: Om Nom Nom Nom!!"

Age: Old Enough for everything except drawing Social Security.

Where did you grow up: Dayton Ohio. (Actually grew up in West Carrollton)

What do you call:

1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks?
That's a pretty wide definition.  "A stream is a body of water with a current, confined within a bed and stream banks." So a river is a stream.  Then it goes down from Creek to a Brook to a Crick, all the way to a little Rill with a load of other names in between all of varying sizes. I've known creeks that were bigger than Rivers. For example, Holes Creek is wider than the Little Miami River. In the south, Creek is pronounced /crick/, and often spelled that way as well, which adds to the confusion. D River in Oregon is only 440 feet long... 220 at extreme high tide.

2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called?
It's called a bascart, but I've heard it called other weird things too.

3. A metal container to carry a meal in?
A lunch box. But I carry a Bento Box instead.

4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in?
Skillet.

5. The piece of furniture that seats three people?
couch usually around here, but sofa is also common. Our neighbors called theirs "The Davenport".  They were from upstate new york.  Apparently this is a manufacturer and became a generic term for a couch or sofa in that area.

6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof?
There are two. Gutters catch the rain off the roof, and the gutters are attached to downspouts which carry it down off the house to the ground.

7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening?
It's a porch.  And yes, [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog, people sit outside in the evening.  It's cool and pleasant out there. You can sit with your housemates, or guests, socialize, people watch, smoke, drink a beer, enjoy a tall glass of iced tea, or just take in the nice evening air. I play my flute on my porch.

8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages?
Around here it's usually called 'pop'.  Where my folx are from though it's called coke.  doesn't matter what brand. You could ask "Ya'll want a coke?  I got Orange, Grape, Vanilla Cream, Pepsi-cola and Tab.  It was always Coca-cola for the actual brand Coke. "Come on in and have a coke. I hope Dr. Pepper is all right with you?"

9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup?
Pancakes.  Sometimes I hear hotcakes.  I've heard that some places call them 'flapjacks' but I've never heard anyone actually call them that.

10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself?
Sub. (which btw is short for submarine which it looks like)

11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach?
Swim Trunks

12. Shoes worn for sports?
Sneakers usually

13. Putting a room in order?
Tidying up

14. A flying insect that glows in the dark?
Lightning bugs, fireflies.  (we also call them both here.)

15. The little insect that curls up into a ball?
Armadillidium (aka wood louse) is not an insect. It is an arthropod, but it is a crustacean not an insect. That said, we call them pill bugs or roly-polies most of the time. Sometimes sow bugs.

16. The children's playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down?
See-saw

17. How do you eat your pizza?
Pick it up and eat it. No silly knife and fork.  At Cassanos we use a Chicago cut which was started so that ladies could still eat pizza it without soiling their dainty gloves. Most places around here use a pie cut now and we just pick it up by the slice and eat it.

18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff?
Depends on the location. It can be a Garage Sale, a Yard Sale, a Moving Sale, a estate sale.  Often several families will gather their stuff together for these, and then sometimes you have a Rummage Sale in the basement or a church or something.

19. What's the evening meal?
Supper. Dinner is mid to late afternoon. Supper is later in the evening.  If you eat Dinner at 3 and supper at 9 you don't have a meal called "Lunch" because Dinner is your main meal of the day.

20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are?
Basement.

21. What do you call the thing that you can get water out of to drink in public places?
Drinking Fountain

I have no
Celeb icon.
Zero.

How many icons do you have total?
98

How many can you have?
117

If you could buy space for more, would you?
Not right now, but if I needed more, then yes

Do your icons make a statement about you?
Absolutely they do. Notice that I have no celebs. That's a statement in and of itself.

What fandom do you have the most icons out of?
Fullmetal Alchemist

The second most?
Um... Dragons? Does that count? I'm a big fan of dragons.  I used to have a lot more of these, but I don't have all of them uploaded now.

What ship do you have the most icons out of?
Edward and Winry

Break down your icons for us.

Hrm... In what way? Mine are pretty well all over the place and some of them would overlap too.

Fullmetal Alchemist: 23
Dragons 11
Crochet 11
Myself: 3
Penes 2
--------------------
that's 50. The rest are much more random

How do you categorize your icons?
Categorize? O_o with Keywords? I usually try to mention what fandom, but mainly what emotion I mean them to express.  Some of them are also seasonal.  Some are just funny. Some are sort of WTFs (see 2 penes)

Are your icons mostly made by other users?
OH NO. they are mostly made by ME. Sometimes I am using someone else's artwork, but I almost always find out whos and credit in the comments or even right on the icon. I wish LJ hadn't eliminated the the place in the hover menu that showed the icon comments.

Animated icons are...
Awesome, but I don't actually have that many.

I tag: [livejournal.com profile] januarysky[livejournal.com profile] evilwildlex, [livejournal.com profile] nebroadwe, [livejournal.com profile] gangrel_pri and [livejournal.com profile] brokenbrawler.

I'm not sure who I tagged in my last one. So some of you might have gotten double duty. I try not to always tag the same people, but a lot of people on my friend's list have been inactive a lot lately.
ishte: Icon given by OTW for paid membership (Default)

I don't usually do these most of the time that I see them, but since I was specifically tagged by [livejournal.com profile] januarysky, here it goes. This is one of those "change whatever question you don't like and add your own. SO here goes.  I did add Tags for the names of the people who asked the questions.  And since there were some dupes I took them out and renumbered.

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn

[livejournal.com profile] sumofcitadels
5. What are you wearing now?
Nothing. No. I'm dead serious. Not a stitch at all. I'm wearing only my skin. I undressed to take a bath and the water was too hot, so I came back in here to wait for it to cool a little.

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn
6. What is one item of clothing you wish you could always wear?
I don't have anything that I wish to wear constantly. I really DON'T like wearing the same thing all the time.  Even my pajamas I would hate to only have one pair.

The Skye Boat Song. Go figure.

[livejournal.com profile] sumofcitadels

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn
23. What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?
Maybe a Regional Sales Director for Mary Kay, finally making decent money.

[livejournal.com profile] sumofcitadels
24. Where's your birthmark?
I have no real birthmarks that I know of.  There is a little brown 'splash' mark on the back of one calf. It is about an inch in diameter, and it looks rather like an ant might have tripped and spilled a cup of coffee on me at some point in my life.

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn
25. Where's your tattoo/Where would you like a tattoo?
I have no artwork done.  I would like some, but at present I am to undecided about what I want and where I want it. Also, the expense is usually surprising when I discuss something even small and simple.

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn

27. What is the best flavor of Jello?
Probably strawberry, but my favorites tend to depend on my mood.

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn
28. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
I can already play pretty much every musical instrument. If you hand me one, I will fiddle with it until I can figure out how to play something.  I have the most trouble with flutes that you have to blow like a bottle.  I prefer to have the instrument direct the air for me so I can concentrate on the music. Thus my love for Native American style flutes.  For the record, I can play Flute, violin, viola, guitar, piano/organ, tin whistles, um... I know how to work synthesizers and multitrack sequencers.  I am also a vocalist. It is in fact probably my best instrument.

[livejournal.com profile] sumofcitadels
29. How tired are you?
I'm not. I'm very relaxed.

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn
30. What's the one thing you need the most now?
A bigger client base. (one's who actually buy my product since that's my sole means of support.) I know how to get what I need, so I also need to stop procrastinating and do what is necessary to get it.

[livejournal.com profile] ishte
31. Are you a social creature?
I am. very much. But that's not to say I don't need my time away from people too.

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn
32. What was the last thing you ate?
Erm... Breyer's Carb Smart Chcolate Ice cream. It was yummy. I'm about to get something to eat now. I'm very hungry.

[livejournal.com profile] juandalyn
33. Do you wear jewelery?
yes. I currently have 9 rings on my fingers... three loops in one ear and one in the other... Normally have my Mary Kay pins on and sometimes a necklace. Often one of a dozen watches (some of which don't even run... they're just ornaments)

I'm supposed to tag... 8 people I think... let's see: [livejournal.com profile] brokenbrawler, [livejournal.com profile] bob_fish, [livejournal.com profile] cornerofmadness, [livejournal.com profile] dzioo, [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog, [livejournal.com profile] gangrel_pri, [livejournal.com profile] marynachaotica, and [livejournal.com profile] ookamikagakusha.  How's that?

You were born during a Third Quarter moon
This phase occurs in the middle of the moon's waning phases, after the full moon and before the new moon.

- what it says about you -
You like to make up your own mind. You may find it hard to relate to mainstream opinions on issues, and you definitely don't always like what's popular. You can work out solutions and give birth to big ideas when left to yourself, and other people will be impressed with your conclusions even if they're not sure how you arrived at them.
What phase was the moon at on your birthday? Find out at Spacefem.com

Interesting exercise. It does leave out whole chunks of life, and important events that didn't happen in the years selected — but so be it. It's like a series of keyhole glimpses.

1961 - Aether - I was not conceived of yet and thus did not at that moment have a flesh container.  I imagine I was probably finalizing my options at that point regarding what I intended to learn and how best to learn it.

1971- West Carrollton, Ohio, USA - I am 6 years old. I finished kindergarten this year at Valley Hills, and started first grade. My kindergarten teacher was Miss Woods, and now I have Mrs. Stambaugh. We have year around school so that we can fit more students and teachers into the building without over crowding.  There is a black girl in my class, and she is the first black person I have ever met. She is usually nice, and she doesn't seem that different from anyone else except she wears her hair in funny puffy pony tails. I wonder what they feel like. I am a soprano Angelbird in the children's choir, and I can sing harmony too.  I already make musical instruments out of rubber bands that I wrap around things and tune them by making them tighter. I get the rubber bands off my daddy's desk.  I think I have a toy organ too, but I probably can't find it because my room is such a mess.

1981 - West Carrollton Ohio, USA. - I'm a Freshman now, but Freshmen are still housed in the Junior High School. I am first chair second violin.  [livejournal.com profile] composer2005 and [livejournal.com profile] snowyowlstar are my closest friends.  I also play piano, and guitar and can pick up almost any instrument and figure out how to play something pretty easily. I sing constantly and am working on getting a band together in the near future. I was pretty much a straight A student until, but I'm struggling with Algebra II. I should have asked early on for that class to be switched to a different time, or maybe asked for Mr. Houk again. Mrs. Fox has such a quiet soothing voice, and my class is right after lunch. I'm struggling to stay awake, and it's getting harder to keep up because I can't focus on what she's teaching. My friend Robin and I tried to start a drama club this year. We were told we had to find a teacher to sponsor it, and we started asking around. All the teachers we asked refused, and then a few months later Mrs. Marks (who we asked first) started a drama club as if it had been her idea, and then when we tried to get in, we were cut out of it. I didn't have time in my curriculum to take Choir this year. That bummed me out, but I decided that since I could and did sing any time I wanted that I would rather continue to take orchestra. I'm actively pagan now, but don't know a whole lot of other people who are.  I just have to learn what I can on my own or with a few friends who are also interested.

1991 - Dayton, Ohio, USA - My daughter [livejournal.com profile] cheapcarnival will be 2 years old this year. I am working at Cassano's as a Relief Manager.  I lost track of [livejournal.com profile] composer2005 after high school, but [livejournal.com profile] snowyowlstar and I are still good friends. Our girls are crib and playpen mates and actually cousins because [livejournal.com profile] snowyowlstar's sister married my cousin, and had a child who is both my daughter's and her daughter's cousin.  I am in college now, finally, studying computer science and business administration, but I'm worried. The college said they were accredited when I started, but now I'm hearing that credits will only transfer to Urbana College and Urbana credits won't transfer anywhere. Also, I noticed that the nursing and medical assisting students have loads and loads of postings, but that the school posts almost NO listings in my field even though they're supposed to assist with job placement. Most of the people in my classes who are working in my field already were in some way before they started here.  I'm an active member of a working circle, and part of the inner council.  Because of the nature of my learning, we're very non ritualistic and practice a lot of what we call the 'Nike School of Magic". In other words, just do it.

2001 - Fairborn, Ohio, USA. I'm back in the Dayton Area now. Living in a nice apartment on Rice. But the schools here are terrible. If I'd known they were this bad, I would have just moved to Dayton where I'd have preferred to live anyway.  It's a nice little town, very multicultural.  It's also a dying town. The more cuts they make to the  base the worse it is.  This town would be in better shape if there wasn't so much subsidized housing stuck into it. It completely kills the neighborhoods.  Stores move away from them so that you have to drive farther and farther to get anything.  I'm strictly a solitary practitioner now.  Having founded and disbanded a working coven I just have no interest in working with people with whom the phrase 'perfect trust' has no meaning.  It's nearly destroyed my ability to trust anyone fully any more. I'm working at Donatos delivering pizza again.  It's easy and the money is good.  I'm becoming an avid cyclist.  I started riding a little in Missouri and brought a bike that [livejournal.com profile] marynachaotica gave me back to Ohio when I moved.  Later I bought a little bit better bike and now I'm riding a lot more. September 11, 2001!!! Holy Crap! The Twin Towers are GONE.  Muslim Terrorist Assholes flew planes FULL OF INNOCENT PEOPLE into the towers to knock them down.  I knew something was up when I left for work and they were talking about the Congress being evacuated, but I didn't know what was really happening until I walked in and my boss was watching television in the kitchen (not normal) and he ran over and told me that a plane had hit one of the towers.  I have nothing against Muslims, don't get me wrong here by specifying that they were Muslim Terrorists. However, I do think it's important to understand that they are Muslim Terrorists in a fundamentalist Muslim cult who attacked us under the direction of their disturbed fundamentalist leader who praises his God for the destruction he wreaked on thousands of INNOCENTS. I am very angry today.

2011 - Dayton, Ohio, USA. I started my year unemployed, but with some money.  I was pretty ill in December and my job fired me for missing work after refusing to tell me how to turn in medical documentation for my FMLA.  So I decided I wanted to try something else. Now I'm a Full Time Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant.  I'm still working on growing my business, and I have a little more time to get things rolling, but I need to work hard and I need to start having some sales for all my work. It's a little frustrating to work and work and work and to have so many people not actually purchase anything ever.  I mean, I get practice every time I do a facial, but I've now scheduled three parties and had two cancel and one have no guests show up.  Practice is good, but most of my sales have come from people I didn't do facials on. That is not normal.  I need a local clientèle. I need to work harder.  Other than that worry, I really do like what I'm doing. I like the flexibility of my job, and being able to almost write my own schedule.  I don't have to justify anything with anyone if I want to take a day off for whatever reason. I just don't schedule appointments for that day.  I love my new house, and am SO glad to be back in Dayton and away from Fairborn.  My house is 100 years old next year and this is actually the other side of the same house I lived in in 1991. Isn't that funny as hell?  The house and garden are set up as sacred space. I love it dearly.  I plan to stay here until I can afford to just BUY a house here in South Park outright and restore it like so many other beautiful homes in our neighborhood have been restored.  I have reconnected with [livejournal.com profile] composer2005. We play music at the Dublin Pub on Tuesday and were in an Irish Folk band together until recently and are working on getting another one together. I'm a very avid cyclist now, much healthier than I was in my 20's and 30's. I own a Candy Red Trek FX 7.2 and a Champaign one too. I rode my bike two days in February this year. I may ride tomorrow.

Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Upon request, I will post a random line or two from any of these you choose. Assuming that the file adds up to a full line, that is.

I'm afraid I won't have as many as some of my contemporaries. Some of these are

Eternia's Cage: This was originally intended to be an online interactive fiction that [livejournal.com profile] brokenbrawler and I cooked up some years ago, RP'd some fun times with and then never actually got any real writing done on it. Most of our interactive fiction group at the time was getting into college and getting married, having children and generally getting on with lives and to a point where they were not online as much.  If you've ever seen the animé .hack/Sign, then you'll see that our premise was built out of that idea with some obvious modifications. A lot of those mods probably came from me because I'd actually only seen a couple of episodes, so I didn't really understand the premise to begin with other than that it involved an online game.  The main premise is that story starts out inside a game, with a pair of characters Tomi and Archer working together to defeat an enemy. Their players are from Tokyo and somewhere in the US (I forget actually) They have become good friends in game, and are about to meet in Tokyo as Archer is going there for some kind of study (or something, again, I don't remember).  Tomi works with high end technology and has some very unique hacks and tools created specifically for game play and code breaking. Once Archer arrives and they can speak in person outside the game, Tomi reveals a suspicion that something strange is going on with the game.  Some of the NPC's have some really bizarre coding or what appear to be glitches in the code that shouldn't even work.  I think we may have had a different idea of how the story would be told. It's been a while, but I think my mind was more concentrated with outside game interaction, and [livejournal.com profile] brokenbrawler may have been more focussed on inside game play interaction. That wouldn't surprise me, since that's how the story is told on .hack/Sign, but sine I had no real grounding in that animé, I wouldn't have known that.  Personally, I still like the idea of most of the story being told from outside, and I wonder if [livejournal.com profile] brokenbrawler would mind if I pulled this premise to build into something a little workable as a novel myself. I still really like the basic premise, and it wouldn't be the first time the concept of a game vs outside world story was ever told either. Hell, Tron (the original Tron) was something along those lines.

A Switching Tale: This is a story about a pair of twins, Ash and Rowan who flee from their hometown seeking a cure for an illness that Ash has suffered from since childhood.  Rowan came to believe that their stepmother was trying to kill Ash, though she did not understand why, and convinced her brother to flee just in time before the Recency's troops arrived to garrison the town of Langley Crossing. The story evolves into an epic adventure, as Ash and Rowan discover that there is much more to their history and story than they ever thought and they set out in search of the kingdoms ancient relics in the company of a Trowsidhe (Dark Elf), a Jerdasidhe (Sun Elf), (two people are traditional enemies to each other). Along the way they are assisted by other companions, some who stay with them at length and some who only travel with them for a short while. Their travels eventually lead them into the holy land of the last true rulers of Merisala and the liberation of their kingdom.

Gaia's Song: Daniel Teridani, and his fiancée Sierra Brooks live a happy quiet life in Justin Bay, South Ceta where Daniel has a small practice as a natural healer based in his native Kantainese healing.  Daniel has a strange elemental power that he does not understand, and rarely uses, and Sierra has a latent psychic talent.  When Daniel's older brother Andrew was killed in action in the country to the north, Daniel and Sierra started working on getting the Cetan authorities to release Drew's body for interment in Kantai, Daniel .  Daniel follows Sierra to the great city of Ceta Prime when Sierra goes missing during a trip.  In time Daniel meets, Nanashi Sou, a fellow Kantainese with an elemental power associated mostly with water. Together with some others, they find Sierra, but discover a dark secret within the City that is spreading through the world. Together the group of them escape from Ceta and set out to learn about the strange abilities that seem to come from Gaia herself as they struggle to fulfill the destiny they have uncovered.

Chasing the Trail: The automail port in Edward Elric's shoulder becomes deeply infected because of the metals that were used to reconstruct it on the back side of the gate of truth.  He becomes very ill from it and collapses on his way home from a part. Ultimately, he ends up at Roy Mustang's house where Winry comes to his rescue and replaces the port she has nagged him about for months.  As Ed heals and regains his strength, he and Winry finally start to see their feelings for each other come to the light, but they are suddenly separated from each other just as things are starting to fall into place for them. To be reunited, they are forced to follow a puzzling trail and find each other again.

Lucifer's Daughter: What would happen if Lucifer's own daughter refused to take part in the rebellion?  She would have a dilemma, wouldn't she?  I mean, on one hand, there is the law: Honor thy father and mother.  Lucifer is her father, so she should do what he says shouldn't she?  On the other hand... this is rebellion against God... their sovereign lord in heaven.  Now... what would happen to her after the war?  Either choice she made, she would be going against heaven's law... but what would happen to her if she were granted some sort of dispensation for refusing to support the rebellion, even though she broke heaven's law to do so, in not honoring her father?  (P.S. This is a saved story idea, and there is not one scrap of this story written at this time other than the graph preceding.)

Astral Flip: (An FMA/Earth crossover fiction) Thompson Aaron died three times on the operating table. Three trips through the white tunnel and back. Each trip stuffed her head with more information.  When she returned that last time she discovered she had a wealth of random scientific, metaphysic, mathematic and alchemical facts to sort out.  One thing she knew for sure; she could travel into the astral, and with the right set of calculations, she could travel anywhere, and take her whole mind body and soul with her.  Where she ends up is right in the lap of a diminutive alchemist who does appreciate her asking him to just call her "Pipsqueak". This was designed to be a funny, VERY tongue in cheek story semi-interactive fiction with only a couple of writers involved. I never found a second writer to play with me, so the first part of the first chapter was really the only part that got written.

Bloodhunt: Actually, this is not mine.  It is a universe created for an interactive fiction that all participants agreed that anyone participating who wanted to use the premise to write a novel could do so. Jana and I worked on her version together for a while which is why it's in my 'working' folder still.  After a while, it being her novel, she pretty much took off on her own with it and has since finished it and submitted it around.  I have my own story written in this universe.

The Millennium Children: 100 years ago, a mission to Mars ended badly. Few of the astronauts return, and it is soon discovered that they are carrying a strange organism within their bodies that allows them to draw and manipulate thaumatic energy in various different ways.  The organism spreads to a number of people before it is 'contained', but eventually those in the thaumatic internment camps rise up and break out.  It is discovered over time that the descendants of these people also have thaumitochondria (as the organelle has come to be called) so that now there are magic users of various sorts throughout the world.  Michael Yamoto is an officer in the largest militia in his country. When a nuke is exploded in space above NYC, he is sent to investigate under the guise escorting a scientist from New York to Chicago on a special exchange program.  What Michael discovers is that this is far more than just a simple terrorist threat.

At the Gates of Dawn: Well this was actually a multi universal RP. I don't know why I have it in my Joint writing really.  It's not like any text was going to be produced. I was only one of the writers. My main character was a primary Animé plus post CoS Edward Elric. All that is in this folder are a profile and two documents about the drugs they have Ed on to keep him under control. One explains them in fair detail including what it does, the side effects and his withdrawal symptoms, and one that just notes what each one was based on in the real world if any.

Damn Fine Frying Pan: This is not a story. It's a cook book which I had been working on. I need to remember it and start working on it again.

Honestly? I'm not posting every single file. there are literally hundreds of little files in here, some of them bits of artwork, or character charts or previous drafts of text, edited copy and various other things. I'm very OCD and when I start creating a story, I have like 5 sub folders to start on the story, for different things. As the worldbuilding process goes on, there are more folders, often within the folders.

For instance, in Gaia's Song, there is a character folder and in that folder is a folder for every single character which contains things like the character's chart, any artwork, and various other things.  For the character Daniel Teridani, he has two subfolders, one of which is labeled "Dan's Blog" (contains the elements for Daniel's online blog once hosted on blogger) and the other labeled "Dan's Stuff" (contains pictures of stuff Daniel has, like his Tachi no Dachi, his emerald ring, lists of herbs and what they do, lists of medicines and what they do, a picture of Daniel's card, which apparently has some mushrooms on it. hahaha. I've been two days just with this. If I get into every file, you'll never see the end of this meme.

Maybe I ought to list the name of every character chart I have in these folders. but not this one. Maybe I'll start a new one. For now, this is the end.

On Fridays, I tend to forget that everyone else is working or in school, so while I'm sitting here just randomly doing nothing, or maybe pretending to write (i.e. I have the document open and might even look at it occasionally, wondering how to finish the last two or three sentences of the chapter), I'm wondering "Why isn't anyone updating their LJ? Why don't I have answers to any of my emails."

    August:
Chapter Fourteen –Chafing under Restraint - Disclaimer: Not taking credit for anything here, other than this story written in Arakawa’s toys in her playground.

    September:
I guess should get on with this since I have a little time.

Your result for The Steampunk Style Test...

    The Scientist

    50% Elegant, 62% Technological, 27% Historical, 28% Adventurous and 31% Playful!

You are the Scientist, the embodiment of steampunk’s academic side. Where other technological styles might emphasize the gadgets of the genre, you realize there is more to science than doohickeys and gears. Your accessories are medical bags, test tubes, measuring instruments, and academic papers. You are more likely to carry a compass, quadrant, or ether-attuned spectrometer than a wrench or welding torch. You probably carry a timepiece, and your prolific reading gives you every right to wear spectacles. Perhaps the most distinctive feature of your style is that it combines the frock coats and bustle gowns of the 19th century with the trappings of Victorian science.

The file has the wrong date on it. I thought it was the 6th. Anyway, this background was created by [livejournal.com profile] fractured_chaos for the 2009 FMA gift exchange, and though it wasn't my gift I stole it out from under the tree and put it on my desktop. It's perfect and even more so because if I set it to repeat, it just happens that the image is a little wider than my screen, so the borders are hidden under my side items except the bottom one which combined with the top one from the repeat created that cool black bar to put my icons on. YAY! Very nice indeed.

Your result for The Fan Fiction Personality Test...

    The True Fan
OOC is blasphemy, canon is everything.

Once you fall in love with a movie, book or TV series, you are loyal like an old dog. You take fanfiction quite seriously and use it as a substitute after the canon ran out.

You are probably a walking dictionary of your favorite fandom and you are picky about what you write and read. The closer to the "real thing" fanfiction is, the more you like it.

You rather explore a character in all depth, see new sides and learn more about them than creating new characters or mix up the situations they are in.

Firstly: If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new, original question.

Secondly: Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.
    ===========================================================
Who sleeps in bed next to you? Lady Galadriel Starfire (My cat)

Have you ever lied to a teacher to get out of a deadline? Eh... Probably?

What kind of magazines do you read? Crochet Magazines, also stuff like Popular Science and Popular Mechanics

What's your occupation? I work in Customer Care for a major telecom company.

What do you want most right now? A different house? (not going to happen until the housing market improves and I can sell THIS house.)

Think 2012's gonna happen? Eh... anything is possible. Not like I can stop it by myself if it does.

What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction? Fullmetal Alchemist, Tsubasa, Crochet (snicker), Cycling

What are you listening to right now? Himekami: Kokirico

What food could you eat every day for weeks and not get sick of? Sushi. Seriously love it.

What websites do you always visit when you go online? Livejournal, Dragon Cave, Ravelry.

What was the last thing you bought? um... *embarrassed* 5 roast beef sandwiches for $5 at Arby's... heh... seriously. Lunches for the next few days.

What's your favourite song right now? Seriously this can vary depending on my mood. A minute ago it was that Himekami song that was playing. Right now I like this Star Salzman remix of a Street Fighter 2 piece pretty well too.

Does the weather affect your mood? Not exactly. I don't like cold weather Really don't... but contrary to a previous meme I don't really suffer from SAD in winter. Not liking winter is not the same thing. I tend to be a high spirited person. I just wish I had the balls to ride my bike in the dead of winter. I seriously see some of these hardcore commuters doing and I'm just like.. Holy FUCK no WAY I could do that. (but I was out on my bike like the first week or March last year. March 8 I think. I posted about it on my LJ, so I was ready to go as soon as the first break in the weather happened.)

What is your zodiac sign? Scorpio

Do you want to learn another language? I would like to learn all of them. I currently speak Spanish, well enough to follow a movie without the subtitles, and Japanese well enough to catch when a subtitle hasn't exactly given a true translation. I also speak some snatches of Mandarin, Gaelic (Irish), Cantonese, Russian, German, French, Portuguese, Cherokee, Italian, Greek.... seems like there are some others. I know linguistic things about Language families like Bantu and Sino-Tibetan without actually speaking any the languages myself. I love linguistics.

5 things you can't live without. Cant? Food (including salt btw), Water, Air, Fire, Shelter. As I've said before, there is a huge difference between "Can't" and "Don't WANT to". I don't want to live without: My Bike, Music, Crafting supplies, At least one cat, Shoes. (this list is subject to change depending on what seems important at any given time. In winter My furnace probably seems more important than my Bike. I have a lot of Gemini in my sign it seems.) (see and now I like this Thomas Dolby song N.E.O. that's playing really well.)

Do you have any siblings? One brother. Older... Stodgier... WAY Stodgier...

What's something you'd like to say to someone right now? Stop bragging. Seriously, you brag about everything, from how important you are in xyz organization to your latest illness. Just stop. Learn to appreciate yourself from WITHIN yourself and you won't feel the need to try to draw appreciation from other people by bragging about every little thing. Seriously.

What are you looking forward to? Spring when I can get my bike back out. Would be nice to have Summer next year. Because really? We did not have Summer this year.

Say something to the person who tagged you: Floranna: Be well. The fact that you really WANT to be well is an extremely important step towards REALLY being well.

(now I really like this David Arkenstone piece "Canyon Dreams" that is playing)

    Tagging: [livejournal.com profile] brokenbrawler, [livejournal.com profile] burnrequiem, [livejournal.com profile] cornerofmadness, [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog, [livejournal.com profile] gangrel_pri, [livejournal.com profile] littlechemist01, [livejournal.com profile] marynachaotica, [livejournal.com profile] phoenixfyre1 that's eight right? silly tag memes.
