Writer's Block: First Amendment
2012-Jan-18, Wednesday 16:44[Error: unknown template qotd]Funny thing about that is, as an American, I have always had it. I can't even imagine what the world would be like if I did not have what I consider one of the most primary fundamental rights, to speak my mind. Obviously there are limitations, but they are SELF regulating. I censor myself and don't use certain words or certain speech in certain circumstances. I don't swear in front of my mother, I don't talk politics at work (much), and I don't discuss religion with most Christians. But those are self imposed and not something the government should have any say in at all. Again, I can't even imagine what life would be like if I had to live in fear of being jailed for things I say, or having my comments online blacked out because someone didn't agree with them.
I support the SOPA PIPA protest, and I'm glad to see LiveJournal take part it in it.
