Writer's Block: Money to burn

First I would buy a nice big comfortable new car. Grab as many of my good friends (you know, the ones who would go to have fun and not drama queen and whine the whole time and ruin the fun for everyone else) and then We'd hit the road. Just a big road trip. No airplanes for me. You can't see the country from an airplane. No arguing about where we're going, my friends. I'm the one footing the bill. Just shut up and enjoy the ride at my expense. We'll stay in the finest hotels whenever we stop, eat in the best restaurants and have sushi every night if we wanted. We would take advantage of spas and resorts, and visit fun places we've never been. If I can hire someone to invent a personal matter antimatter transporter system, I might hire an excellent good looking male guide and make a whirlwind trip to Tokyo towards the end as well. After my two weeks were up, I'd take off an extra day from work to rest up, and I wouldn't make it up later either. So... when do I get this two week respite from real life?

I know I just bought a brand new Trek FX 7.2 back in 2008, but I'm already sorely SORELY tempted to buy another one. (as in I started saving towards it as soon as I saw it) Mine is lovely in champagne, but Holy Shite, just look at THIS beauty (this year's model)

I just finished filing my taxes and discovered that the EIC has been increased and my daughter still qualifies me because she's in college, AND there was an additional tax credit of $400 that I'm getting that I WASN'T Expecting. So add that to what I have saved towards this bike, and WOOT. This translates to me being in Village Cyclery very early this Spring to have John fit me with a new Trek FX 7.2 in this beautiful bright red. F'n sweet!

If you got a mountain bike, let me make a little (unasked for) recommendation. Take it to your local bike shop and have them change those big nobby tires for some inverted tread tires that are more design for road riding. Unless you're planning to ride on dirt paths and climb mountains, you don't want those big nobbies. (Edit: Here I meant to say is a picture of something like what you ought to be looking for. Your local bike shop mechanic will know what you mean if you ask for inverted tread or better yet "Hybrid tires" for your bike.)
They don't generally cost very much, and it'll make a huge difference.
Now... I better put my ass to bed. heh... Nighty.
