This is an easy one. Well... somewhat easy. I'd choose a golden queen dragon from Anne McCaffrey's pern series. If finances meant I couldn't afford to feed someone the size of say... Orlith, then an oddball like Ruth (the white dragon) would be fine. He's big enough to ride but not that much bigger than a horse. I could feed him a deer or a sheep every other week and he'd be fine. If I wasn't able to impress a dragon (fat chance since I have 524) I'd choose to impress one of the dragonettes that the dragons originally arose from. A queen or a bronze please. Only because they tend to be a little smarter and less flighty.
Edit: My images didn't work. bleh.. .So here are some new ones. It's really hard to find gold and bronze... people seem to like drawing green Pernese dragons better. So you get one of those and a Michael Whalen of Jaxom and Ruth.
