Cycling Shoes
Being positive minded here. I'm not going to let being sick get me down. I'm sure I'll feel human and be on my bike again soon. The weather is getting better. So in a positive frame of mind here, I have been shopping for a new pair of cycling shoes for several days in the hopes of replacing my old Lakes, which are really just a smidge too small. They're supposed to be a bit snug, but these ones once I get out about 10 miles, my toes start to go numb if I don't get off the bike and walk around a bit. I also hoped to find some that matched my new bike. Therefore, I have just bought a pair of these from Nashbar at a great discount and even got an additional 10% off with a special coupon I found online:

My old Lakes are technically mountain bike shoes. These are Touring shoes which are more in line with the type of riding I do. They're built like a road shoe, but with walking support. That's what I liked about them when I first saw them was that they had a walkable sole that keeps my clips off the ground. My current shoes only do that in a very marginal way. as in, if I'm walking on really even ground and step easy they don't scrape. But the truth of the matter is, I'll probably have to replace my clips after this year because they are looking pretty scruffy now. Then again, now that I examine them, they really aren't scuffed any place important. And I'm not having any trouble getting in or out of the pedals with them. So we'll see. Now if I could find red anodized clips? yah. hahaha! Now I'm just being silly.
