Fat Freddie the Fish

I don't know why this Freddie became so very fat, but he is. significantly more round than any of the others I've made. This was even after I pulled out his face and redid it once already, so I decided he just wanted to be fat and went on. I didn't stuff him very tight because of him already being so fat. So he's soft as amigurumi go. He's cute anyway. A cute little fatty.

Look how fat he is!

You can really see it in this one. Just look how ROUND he is compared to the Freda. The stitches are exactly the same.

As always, click on each image to see it full size.

Oh yeah, the yarn I used for the stripedy part was Bernat Jacquards in blue. I had some left after a baby blanket I haven't posted yet. I'll try to post that later.

He is. All Freddy the Fishes are, but this little fatty is especially cute in all his roundness.

OMG SO CUTE! Both of them are! ♥♥♥

Is there a pattern???

There is. He's called Freddie the Fish. Here's the pattern:

I don't follow the pattern precisely. I usually choose a light color for the face and then choose a variegated or self striping yarn for the body. that way I don't have to change colors.

Oh, thank you so much! :) And that is an awesome idea -- I will probably do something similar with the yarns.

Also, I love your icon!

Ee That's my leafy sea dragon. I love them.

Freddie the Fish is really simple too. He's very easy t make. Also an excellent choice for a first amigurumi because there aren't a lot of complicated parts, and no hard to follow increases or decreases. Just real simple stuff, you know? The hardest part is picking up the stitches to make the fins, but once you get the hang of it it's fine, and I learned it doesn't have to be perfect either.

I saw one at our aquarium and was like, COOL!!!! :) So naturally I like that icon.

I've done a crochet beaver before and was surprised by how well it turned out (considering there was a lot of stuff I'd never done before). I can't wait to get started on this one -- I haven't picked up stitches before so it'll be nice to learn something!
