Fabulous Animal

I also made one of these. Let me just say that while it is extremely cute, I doubt if I'll ever make one again. I was expecting to make a toy that was about a foot long. This thing is tremendously large probably two feet long, and very difficult and unwieldy to work with in your lap when you consider that you make the entire body, head and snout all in one piece and then just add the ears tail and feet. (and eyes of course) I'm wondering if the yarn the pattern calls for is sock weight. But I think this is the size it is supposed to be. The picture is just deceptive in it's size or something. Has anyone else ever made one?

I used two different sized Safety Eyes to get the google eyed effect in the pattern

Of course Starfire always wants in on the shot. Look! That thing is as big as her!

*LOL* Starfire the camera cat!

McGyver would take one look at that aardvark thingy and ATTACK with great prejudice. Either that or decide it is HIS toy and wouldn't take no for an answer.

She is always trying to walk around in front of what I'm taking pictures of. This thing though she just sort of lounged there, so I had to take one more after she got real good and comfy.

Awsome!

Oh my, I really really love this! But I can see how hard it would be to make...looks tedious. But still very very cute!

Mostly it was just that by the time I got to the end of his nose, he was so long he was hard to work with. I had to try to wedge hm between my knees, and when you're working on something that's only about 18 stitches around that means you have to constantly turn him. So you know, every two or three stitches I'd have to reposition him.

As I said, porbably tedious^_^ you have more patience than me!

Ee... he was squeed over by the recipient. That was the important thing. I also still have to somehow get a Baby Shower to happen so I can give her the rest of the stuff. Or at the very least 5 minutes in her office at a time of my choosing.

Starfire loves him!

I've made a few afghans for full-sized beds, so size and bulkiness won't phase me. I would probably have a harder time keeping my feline friends out of the yarn!

Star is pretty good about staying out of the yarn when I'm working it, but she brings me balls of it at night while I'm in bed. And wants to hang out with the finished projects.
