Sword of the Stranger

I got this movie from the library today. I had run a search on animé from Bones, because I almost always like the art style out of that studio. I picked this one in particular because it was a one shot instead of a series, and sometimes it's nice to see the end of the story in a couple of hours. I have to say I was not disappointed. I watched it in English, though I just as often watch my animé in Japanese because the voice acting is usually better. One thing I'll say for more recent high quality animé is that the English voice acting has improved a LOT in the last few years. I liked that in either version, the Chinese characters still spoke Chinese, and in cases when they were speaking it to people who didn't understand it, they did not subtitle it either.

I liked the story, but I have to say the real selling point is the artwork and especially the action scenes. Sometimes it's moving so fast you can barely see what happened, but it's exciting and really beautifully drawn work. Attention to detail is excellent, and that's another big selling point for me. If you want more information, go look for it here: http://stranger.bandai-ent.com/. It's definitely worth a view.

I reviewed this one a few months ago. Morbidito is along the same theme, probably a bit better but I really enjoyed this as well except for the cgi 'running' scenes that just didn't seem to fit

Yah. I agree. the opening scene was really cool with the first person flight through the brush, but then when it didn't really fit with the rest of the scenes, it seemed more like a case of "Let's show off this cool effect we learned how to do.

Otherwise I really liked it.

is that Morbidito? Or Moribito? I found Moribito on the libary website. but not Morbidito. I went ahead and ordered the first four.

dyslexia and spelling not always going together. It's probably moribito. it's a smiliar plot but with a woman in the adult role

EE... that's what I figured. I get that sometimes too. Fortunately for us, usually our intellect overcomes it and we're able to figure it out even if some of the letters mix themselves up. Mine is more likely to be numeric actually, where I read a number wrong because a 9 looks like a 6 or a 5 looks like a 2. So I can' do math well, but not fast.

yeah mine is more with math too but writing can sometimes be an issue. reading rarely is
