Today's Ride Log
So here was my route today. I started at my house. Since this is a public post, I'll just give you a rough estimate, not right at my house. Assume that I did ride to the Pizza Tavern from my house first, but Mileage wise it won't make a difference since that is also going to be my finish point for the purpose of this map.

Here I am preparing for my journey
Oh... so anyway, apparently it's not actually called "Pizza Tavern" but correctly termed "South Park Tavern & Pizza". I wonder why the sign just says Pizza Tavern!? hahaha. I could be wrong about this. Anyway, that's my starting point. I went up Wayne half a block and headed out Pierce St. I headed out St. Paul across Xenia Avenue to Boltin so I could take the Boltin bridge across the freeway into St. Anne's Hill. Once there I headed up into Huffman Historic District by riding up (wait for it....) Huffman Av. Cut up Findlay to E 3rd, then cut over on Irwin to Springfield St.
I paused at one point on Springfield to send a picture of the ENK graffiti to
brokenbrawler who used to use those three letters as her art sig if anyone remembers that. I headed into Eastwood Park because by now I had to pee, and was hoping that they had the bathrooms open so I could use the prison toilets they have in there. Thankfully they did. PS... Yes,I took my entire bike into the the bathroom, and parked it in the handicapped stall with me. It is TOO MUCH HASSLE to try to find some place to lock it up outside and I am not leaving Bug outside alone while I pee. Say what you will.

Now from here, I actually did hit the bikeway, but not back towards town. I'd already established that the River Corridor was mostly under water, filled with mud or flocked with obnoxious, raging, pooping Attack Geese. (AKA Canadian Snow Geese) DO. NOT. WANT. I don't know why people think the corridor is SOOOOO awesome. It's always filthy, stinks, is filled with the aforementioned attack geese, and their poop, and it's a freaking WIND TUNNEL with the wind generally blowing in your face no matter which way you want to go. This is because it blows up the river from midday to about early evening, when I start to ride it, and then shifts and blows the OTHER way usually about 6 or 7 when I want to turn around and come back. NO FAIR... does not make me want to ride that filthy poorly maintained trail much.
Anyway, so instead, I headed up the creekside trail which goes through a nice mostly wooded area after it crosses Smithville road. The smell of honeysuckle along that stretch of trail was filled with joy, and I did enjoy it all the way to Airway Road. The trail continues, crossing Burkhardt and eventually passes under the freeway and then crosses Linden. That's where I got off and headed back. I climbed back up Linden.
At one point I stopped at a drive through and asked them if they could just fill my water bottle from the tap. First the guy said he didn't have any tap water, and I asked him point blank. "Do you mean you work here all day without washing your hands?" he recanted and agreed to fill my bottle. The other lady though, didn't want me to have tap water even though that was what I had already. She insisted on buying me a BOTTLE of water so it would be cold. Bless her. I know she meant well, so I accepted, but I really don't like to drink cold water when I'm working out. I prefer it body temperature or room temperature. But that's okay. The thought is what counted. I continued on.
I got to the top of Linden and started down towards Xenia Avenue. My top speed down that stretch was only 29.5. (Doesn't beat my 36.6 I made coming down St Rt 48 on Thursday. Not as much room to power down and the road is much rougher too.)
K... The map totally will NOT let my show my route up Patterson to 4th and out 4th to Wayne. It seems to think 4th is still a one way street in that block. So I had to show myself up 5th which I did not go because it is a difficult brick road and painful to ride.
I lost a part of this, but really there isn't much more to it. I just rode up Wayne back as far as Hickory, cut into my neighborhood and then down Perrine towards home. I did pass this neat house in my neighborhood. I pass it every day but today I remembered that it was for sale and stopped to snap a shot of it. I love it's mansard roof.

Old Victorian.
This house was probably built in the late 1800s
Once I got home, I took a final pic

You can see the two spots on my forehead where my helmet was resting. The rest of my face is pretty flushed too, but that usual after a ride. Not sunburned, just glowing from the exertion.
Oh and here's a map of my route that I had on here that disappeared too.:
