Trek's Newest FX 7.2 is YAY!
I mentioned this in a comment I made back to
littlechemist01 in a previous post, but it just reminded me of how very excited I am about this, and having just filed my taxes makes me even more excited because what I'm getting back is significantly more than I expected this year because of some changes to the tax law with the new administration.
I have probably mentioned this to some already... I know I just bought a brand new Trek FX 7.2 back in 2008. I've only ridden it for one whole season, and not much of one considering the foul summer we had with almost all of it too cold and wet to enjoy. But despite my almost brand new bike, I'm already sorely SORELY tempted to buy another one. (as in I started saving towards it as soon as I saw the new model) Mine is lovely in champagne, but Holy Shite, just look at THIS beauty (this year's model)!!!! Sweet! Like Red isn't one of my FAVORITE colors. THE favorite most of the time. (Though I do like green very much too. Depends on my mood.)

There was an additional tax credit of $400 that I'm getting that I WASN'T Expecting. So add that to what I have saved towards this bike, and WOOT. This translates to me being in Village Cyclery very early this Spring to have John fit me with a new Trek FX 7.2 in this beautiful bright red. F'n sweet! The last thing to decide is whether to trade in my 2008 or not... I may do that if John will transfer all my customizations over to the new bike. I especially need my pedals to stay with me. They were hard to find. It would save me money. I know that
cheapcarnival loves that old purple Kent I reconditioned for her last summer, but I would really like to find her a modern bike that she would like enough to ride regularly. I knew that she'd like the Kent when I found it in that thrift store window. (It wasn't really for sale, it was part of their display, but I talked them into selling it because they'd forgotten to remove the price tag.) Still, it weighs a tonne by modern standards, and if I could find one she'd like as well... I'd give her Bull (the Champagne Trek 7.2, but she doesn't like the color. At. All.)
Might have to spring for a pair of Shimano bike sandals this year too. We'll see. I'll be paying off one of my credit cards and that's the last of them, so financially with the new job, things should be pretty cool.
