MS 150

Ok people, I know that a LOT of you are aware that I'm riding in the MS 150. This is my first year on the Long Distances segment of Team Demon... the so called A-Team, last year consisted of two people. this year there are four as [livejournal.com profile] evilpenguini and I join for the MS 150. Well I finally got my entrance fee done, so I have my donation page set up.

Please go and place your donation now.  In order to participate in the ride, Team Demon has a team fundraising goal of $1000, and I have an individual goal as a part of the A-Team to meet of $200.  This goes to fund MS Reseach as well as supporting various programs to help meet the needs of MS patients all over the country.  I have probably mentioned to some of you that this disease effects me personally.  Thank goodness I don't have it, but it effects me because the wife of my cousin is diagnosed.  My friend Sean is being slowly torn apart by it.  Tim's wife went blind before it killed her.  Tammy's mom suffered from it to.  So I have seen what this disease can do to someone. It's devastating. Please support our cause, and donate what you can.  It's definitely worth something.  I've seen how much treatment has improved since I first heard of this disease in elementary school, when I first became involved with fund raising for it.  Back then they could barely diagnose it.  By the time Tim's wife died, there were some treatments, but still not much.  It's improved since then,  my cousin's wife is nearly symptom free most of the time... Sean is not so fortunate.  My friends, and my family, need your help to fight it, and retain quality of life.  Please help in any way you can.  Help me meet my personal goal so that I can be out there with the rest of the team.

Thanks in advance.  Please please PLEASE pass this on as much as you can.

I will so try to donate something. I have seen numerous patients with that devastating desease and it is really sad. Most of them have a grim prognosis. I am so sorry to hear about the people you know that have it. It is truely awful. Its nice to know that people still give a 'damn' about others. I always like to hear that. Go you! I wish you all the luck and support om your ride!

Ah! thanks very much. ^_^ Livejournal isn't doing a very good job of forwarding my notices about people responding to things, so I missed this and I'm way behind between my writing, training, and project schedule hahaha... but thanks very much if you already have. Thanks very much if you haven't and need this as a reminder. The donation page starts out with $25 as the lowest increment, but actually, when I looked again, it shows a place where you can do 'other' amount, so I guess you can even donate just a dollar. Thanks again. Don't forget your story IS IS IS on my to read list... it's just real chaos around here right now and I'm so damn far behind on everything.. even house work... which I'm about to get up and do my tidying right now...

It's good the hear from you...

It is very good to hear from you and to know that you are doing fine. I have been busy myself and it took me three weeks to update cos of my new job, I hardley have the time! I will donate something as soon as I have money ( which will be friday YAY).

As far as my story goes no hurry it's not going anywhere. But I like the way chapter 9 turned out so I am trying to squeese chap 10 along, nut it's really not happening. I have been accepted to respiratory prgram for the fall so then I will be real busy with FULL time school. So I am working my butt off so I can have money by then. I know what it feels like to be really busy...
keep in touch and again good luck with your training!!

I've passed your link on to everyone writing on Elysium. I know if they can, you'll be getting donations from them. How soon do the donations have to be in?

I'm asking because I need to see what my finances look like after I pay the monthly bills.

Ee... Thanks.. I really appreciate it. Remind them too, that they can donate small amounts in the 'other amount' box. They don't have to go the whole $25 buxx. I really appreciate you sharing the link as far and wide as you can. I'm really excited and terrified about the ride... I'm halfway to my donation requirement now... whoot! I know I can make it the rest of the way.. I just need to keep reminding people. ^_^ I also have to try to scrape together enough to get a decent bike helmet... which is between $80 and $140... uh.. the one I want is $140.. heh... we'll see... Maybe my settlement will come in in time.

If not...there's nothing wrong with a cheap decent bike helmet. I got mine at Wally World for about $20....protects the head, comfy, and has air vents so I don't overheat. PLUS it matches the bike you bought me! *beaming*

You terrified of something? Now that's new!!! Our Ishte isn't afraid of anything!!!

Eh... problem with the cheap ones is they don't fit. I need one with roc-loc in a size small as in 50 cm... a small/med won't fit it's too big, and the way it fits on my head is extremely important. I already have a cheap one. I couldn't stand to wear it for 35 miles... in fact, I was fretting with it after only a very few miles. by the time I hit thirty it was off. I couldn't take it any more.

But....but....I bought a Schwinn bike helmet with something like that, only it's soft...and the few pads it has are the soft kind. Very comfortable helmet for little cost.

Hmm.. It's kind of like the frame that holds a hardhat in place. theres a little screw, or other type adjustment that holds the helmet in place comfortably.. i.e. makes it fit exactly so it doesn't shift around on your head... and does it without putting a bunch of uncomfortable hot little pads inside the helmet.
