2011-Jul-14, Thursday 03:33I know you guys get to hear about my music from time to time, but you haven't got to hear the music itself recently. Especially not stuff on my big flute. So recently, Michael and I were practicing and he started playing a nice riff that was in the right key for me to follow. I really liked what it was sounding like, so I had him record it on his camera. Bear in mind that this is not polished. We're essentially writing this as we play, and just recording it to remember.
ETA: If you watch this full screen, you can see when Michael starts sort of playing around and changing things up. Whenever he goes someplace I didn't expect, my eyes fly open and lock onto his fingers to see what chords he's using... There's one time where I'm expecting him to go from one group to another for about three rounds... that I eventually take my mouth off the flute, give him a look and then he changes the progression back to the beginning like I've been waiting for him to do. hahaha. (and yes, there's applause at the end because people actually come to our practice sessions just to see us.)
