One More Thing
That person (the one who is trespassing in my home) is definitely a liar and a thief. Just to make it clear, I set the heat down much lower than I normally keep it for my comfort. It is not at a level that could be referred to as 'freezing out' just not comfortable. I made it clear that I was NOT paying to keep him comfortable since I'd already asked him to leave and he had stayed anyway.
Two weeks ago, after I gave him a written (and not nice) request that he move out immediately, and gave him a deadline of the end of the week (it was a Monday... generously that would mean Sunday) he claimed that he wasn't digging his heels in, that he couldn't move yet (even though he said he'd had his unemployment check) because the van he borrowed from his stepfather wouldn't run when it was raining... that as soon as it stopped raining he would start looking for places and get moved. THEN a couple days later when it stopped raining, the van disappeared. So when I come home from work, and it's not there, I assume that he's not in my house. Only then I would run into him in my kitchen... so I'd guess that he came back, and I didn't hear him enter my house. Then later the van would be gone so I would think he'd gone out again. I assumed that he was out looking for a place to live. This went on for two or three days until finally I found him in the kitchen on Sunday again.. and then he informed me that Oh.. his stepfather had picked up the van so he could put his car in the shop, and then the van was going to go in the shop to fix whatever was making it so it wouldn't run in the rain. Hmm... right.... So we're ON the deadline day, and you say you don't have a vehicle.. so during the entire week, you didn't have anyone drive you around looking at rooms to rent, or small apartments? OH.. well now the story is that the unemployment check he claimed he had before, was all eaten up paying back a cash advance he had. Hmm... whatever...
So the next week goes by... no van.. no van... no van.. and new behavior has started happening.. now the crack under the door is blocked off so I can't see whether the light is on. i.e. can't see if he's in my guest room... and also the window is blocked off too... so I can't see from outside (so he thinks) whether the light is on. This is also I'm sure partly so that he can heat the room with the electric blanket... I began to suspect that it existed when I stuck my hand in the room one night while he was in the bathroom and the room seemed significantly warmer than the rest of the house (including my room even with my little heater) no van no van... well the van has been gone two weeks now.. I know of no mechanic that would take two weeks to fix two cars. Ok, well I do know some... I don't take my cars to them, and most other people don't either. So no van... oh... guess what ... no van = excuse not to get the fuck out of my home!
So at this point... a week out from the deadline I gave that person, I begin to suspect that he has in fact told his stepfather NOT to lend him the van at this time so that he can continue to use that as an excuse not to move out and to continue freeloading off of me, stinking up my guest room probably by smoking in there with the window cloaked, the door plugged (not just to keep the light in it seems, but to keep me from smelling the stink) and expressly not moving out. Wonder why I might suspect that? Well let me give you some confirmation of the thief's lie. Number one, the electric blanket makes him a thief of extra electricity that he is not entitled to after I have specifically told him that I'm not paying for his comfort.. if he is cold he can do like I do and wrap up in extra blankets, wear thermal sock and thermal underwear and keep a fleece around my legs. He doesn't need electricity to stay warm when the house is 55°. He won't freeze.. .I'm not.
Anyway, off that rant... he's a liar. I gave him a formal 3 day eviction notice today... when I got home he was out. Imagine that... and when he came in (I put bells on my door, so he can't just sneak into the house and go hide in my guest room with the bottom of the door stopped where I can't tell he's in my guest room. The bells are noisy and so I hear him come in... so when he comes in, I look out and LO AND FUCKING BEHOLD THERE IS THE FUCKING VAN that he was claiming was in the shop that he couldn't move because it wasn't available. A-FUCKING-MAZING how that van just MAGICALLY got finished and was available as soon as I gave a formal eviction notice.
Fuck that shit. Sorry about my language... I'm just very irked that he's back again... and having yet another of his lies confirmed it just makes me all the madder at how little regard he has had for me or our long friendship at this point. it's destroyed, and I don't know if I will ever feel friendly towards that person again. At this point, already he has no name to me. So if you thought that my references to 'that person' were for the benefit of his privacy, that would be incorrect. He no longer merits being called by a name as far as I'm concerned. That person is a parasite, a trespasser, a thief and a liar. That does not merit a name.

no subject
Plus call the cops and swear out a complaint against him..oh...perhaps fearing he might get violent against you your property and your daughter. They'd take that quite seriously.
Quite honestly I cannot see WHY you put up with his nonsense for so damned long!
